Sort first, and sort by smell. With sportswear it's odour that decides, not appearance: technical fibres hold sweat long after washing. Three piles — Grade A to simply wash, Grade B to treat (odour, staining, damaged print), and pieces to move cheaply in bundles.

Caring for technical fabrics

The step most resellers miss: odour doesn't come out in a normal wash. Soak affected pieces for an hour in warm water with a glass of white vinegar before machine washing. The vinegar neutralises the residues that trap odour in polyester. It's what rescues the most pieces in this kind of lot.
Wash at 30 °C, with no fabric softener: softener coats performance fibres, kills moisture-wicking, and traps the very odours you're trying to remove.
No tumble dryer. Heat distorts elastane, pills polyester and lifts transfers.
No ironing needed at all, and that's a genuine advantage. Polyester dries crease-free on a hanger. Across 100 pieces that's several hours saved compared with a cotton lot — the fastest category in our catalogue to get sale-ready.
On printed numbers, names and badges, never put an iron directly on them: they melt. If a crease holds, steam at a distance only.

Resale strategy
