Caring for technical outerwear

Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle, liquid detergent, no fabric softener — softener clogs waterproof membranes like Omni-Tech and kills their breathability.
Close every zipper and velcro tab before washing; they damage the rest of the load.
Never iron nylon, polyester or membrane shells directly — the fabric melts or glazes. Steam them on a hanger instead. It's faster than ironing and carries no risk.
On waterproof shells, a short tumble on low heat reactivates the durable water repellent finish. On fleece-lined jackets, skip the dryer: the pile mats.
