Box contents

  • 100 Lauren Ralph Lauren women's sweaters
  • Possible shapes: crew and boat necks, V-necks, turtlenecks, buttoned cardigans, hooded pullovers
  • Possible fabrics: cotton, cotton blends
  • Possible details: cables, open knits, contrast trim, embroidery (flag, pony, initials), metal plaque
  • Assortment of sizes and models varies with stock; sizes often follow American letter labelling
  • Gender: mostly women's
  • Weight: about 45 kg, bale repacked into cartons
  • Grade split: around 70% Grade A / 30% Grade B, an average that varies from one bale to the next.

Resale tips

Sort Grade A and Grade B as soon as the bale arrives. On cable knit, the call comes down to pilling, snagged threads in the cables, moth holes, stretched collars and cuffs, and missing buttons on cardigans. Make three piles: Grade A to clean, Grade B to repair, and pieces to move in small bundles.

Caring for knitwear

  1. Run a fabric shaver over each piece before washing and photographing: cables trap pilling and hide it poorly on camera.
  2. Wash inside out at 30 °C on a wool or delicate cycle, with a mild detergent and no fabric softener.
  3. Button the cardigans and tie the drawstrings on hooded pieces before washing so they don't snag the knit.
  4. Dry flat, never on a hanger or in a tumble dryer: a wet sweater hung up stretches and the cables lose their shape.
  5. Steam from a distance. An iron pressed on the knit flattens the cable relief and damages embroidery.

Resale strategy

  1. List from back-to-school: a listing already live in September gets seen before the October and November crowd.
  2. Sell trimmed cardigans, worked cable knits and open-knit pieces one by one, since they carry the value of the bale. Plain knits move better in small bundles of three to five.
  3. Name the shape, the detail and the colour in the title: "red cardigan navy trim Lauren Ralph Lauren women's", "cable knit boat neck sweater Lauren Ralph Lauren".
  4. Photograph the sweater flat in natural light, with a close-up on the cables and on the neck label.
  5. Give flat measurements (chest width, length, sleeve): American sizing doesn't map onto European sizes.

Resale potential

Cost: €6 per piece.

Grade A Lauren Ralph Lauren sweaters of this type typically resell for €19 to €43 each.

Total potential on this bale: between €1,350 and €3,000 for a cost of €600.

Indicative only: it depends on your sorting, your photos and your market.

Understanding our grades

Every box displays a badge indicating its composition. Here is what each grade means:

🟢 Grade A — good overall condition

Garments that meet professional second-hand standards: few or no visible flaws. Resellable after a simple wash and press.

🟡 Grade B — visible signs of wear

Usable pieces showing more pronounced marks of use: light stains, fading, fabric wear or minor flaws. Well suited to resale at an adjusted price, or after light reconditioning.

What each badge means:

  • Badge "Grade A/B" → around 80% Grade A + 20% Grade B.
  • Badge "Grade B" → 100% Grade B (no Grade A pieces).
  • Badge "Bale" → around 70% Grade A on average, a rate that varies from one bale to the next.

👉 Always refer to the badge shown on each box: it states the exact composition of that particular lot.

Compressed bales: what to expect

A bale is not a box. It is sold exactly as we receive it: press-compressed and strapped. We remove no pieces, we recompose nothing, and we do not wash.

  • Around 70% Grade A on average, against ~80% for a box. This is an observed average that varies from one bale to the next: as no re-sorting is carried out, the composition depends entirely on the incoming shipment.
  • The clothes arrive creased. This is the effect of compression and has no impact on the fabric: steaming is enough.
  • Washing and ironing are your responsibility before listing.
  • Neither brands, nor sizes, nor models are guaranteed piece by piece. What the product page describes is an average composition, not a certified item-by-item content.

This is the accepted trade-off for the lowest price per piece in our catalogue: less selection upstream, more reconditioning work, and the widest margin once that work is done.

The reality of second-hand

Like any garment that has already had a first life, some items show natural signs of use: softened fabric, less rigid finishes, small imperfections that come from washing and time. These characteristics are inherent to vintage clothing and part of the product's life cycle.

Our advice for getting the most from your resale

Before listing, plan for light care: washing, ironing, and where needed stain removal or a minor repair. This reconditioning work makes a clear difference to how the pieces present and how attractive they look.

To learn more about our grading system and the distinction between Grade A and Grade B, see our dedicated guide.

Sizes and photos

Each box includes a balanced mix of sizes, styles, and colors, depending on available arrivals.

The photos shown are non-contractual: they illustrate the type of products you may receive, without guaranteeing specific models, sizes, or colors.

Each lot is unique, guaranteeing a pleasant surprise with every order.

Fast & Flexible Delivery

Your sourcing shouldn't wait.

All our orders are shipped within 24 to 72 business hours.

Delivery time then depends on the chosen shipping method and destination.

After dispatch, delivery times are estimated at 1 to 4 business days in France and 2 to 4 business days in Europe.

Bale of 100 Lauren Ralph Lauren Women's Sweaters

Box description

The cable knit, Lauren Ralph Lauren's signature

At Lauren Ralph Lauren, the women's line of the house, the sweater is recognised by its knit: tight cables, defined ribbing, heavy cotton or a more open finish. This bale holds 100 sweaters from the line, with shapes that can run from rolled-edge boat necks to open-knit V-necks, from buttoned cardigans to turtlenecks, and even hooded waffle-knit pullovers. The bale holds an assortment of sizes and models that varies with stock.

Fabrics and finishes

Expect mostly cotton, sometimes blended with a little nylon or elastane. Recurring details include contrast trim on necklines, cuffs and hems of the cardigans, patch pockets, pearly buttons, metal-tipped drawstrings and a small gold plaque on the hooded pieces. Colours range from bold shades (red, royal blue) to soft tones (lilac, camel, khaki).

What lifts a piece up the range

Lauren Ralph Lauren speaks to women who look for well-cut basics, with Ralph Lauren's reputation behind the label. In secondhand, trimmed cardigans, worked cable knits and open-knit pieces sit higher than plain knits, which form the base of the bale.

Sizes

Labels most often follow American letter sizing, which generally runs larger than European sizes.

When to list them

Women's knitwear follows a yearly cycle: demand starts at back-to-school, peaks in October and November, then carries on through January. Receiving the stock several months before that peak leaves time to clean, photograph and write listings before the season opens.
